Asabe Shehu Yar’Adua Foundation Celebrates 2016 International Youth Day

Asabe Shehu Yar’Adua Foundation (ASYARF) joined the rest of the world to mark the 2016 International Youth Day on
August 12.

In their message, ASYARF Youth Team encouraged the youths to advantage of several programmes and innovative policies available to them to end poverty.

In their words, “As we celebrate this year International Youth Day 2016 with the theme: “The Road to 2030: Eradicating Poverty and Achieving Sustainable Production and Consumption.

“We call on all the youth around the world to indulge every applicable measures needed to lead and achieve sustainability.

“This year’s #YouthDay theme focuses on SDG 12 with a call to all youth around the world to be leaders and sustainability achievers.

“There are several programmes and innovative policies the youth can engage in to achieve enough food production, Technology, employment and capital which could eradicate absolute poverty around the world and Achieving Sustainable Consumption and Production to yield growth, good economy and green energy.

“We also like to use to medium to call on Government and all Stakeholders to create an enabling environment for youth to thrive while ensuring equal opportunity and providing tools needed to succeed. It is also important that youth takes the lead in various aspect of the economy.

“This will create a viable atmosphere for innovative and competitive growth in our world”, the ASYARF Youth Team said.
On her part in a special message to the youths, the Founder and President of Asabe Shehu Yar’Adua Foundation,
Dr. Amb. Asabe Shehu Yar’Adua, said, ”
The youth we see today are leaders and parents of tomorrow.

“The life and environment we create for them today determined their success rate and impact in the Society. While several youths are excelling, others are still searching in the dark for light to shine on their path.

“The youth “All over the world” needs to be carried along, given the space and tools to quickly step in and take the lead.

“They (the youth) are essential in achieving the vision 2030.

“Step by step, the vision can be achieve and with this year’s theme which focuses on eradicating Poverty and Achieving Sustainable Consumption and Production, engaging the youth and providing them with Lands for agriculture, Literacy and Skills for Employments and job creation, I.T Learning centers and access to grants and loan will help to achieve absolutely over 80% of the Vision 2030” she said.
