Council Chair Extols Ugwuanyi’s Ingenuity

The chairman, Transition Committee, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Council, Comrade Uwakwe Ezeja has immensely appreciated the Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for evolving ideas that would make the Local Government system and the state self-sufficient in all ramifications.

He further stated that Nigerian’s present socio-economic predicament and uncertainty notwithstanding, the Governor and his team have through their ingenuity and commitment is transforming the state economically and other wise which makes him pay salaries in the state while 27 states of the federation were not able to pay theirs.

The chairman gave the appreciation at Umuida Ada Eze Ibagwa-Aka, Enugu-Ezike in Igbo-Eze-North Local Government Area of the state during a reception in honour of the Governor.

He disclosed that his pet project was security which has made the indigenes to sleep with their two eyes closed.

Those who spoke in appreciating of Governor Ugwuanyi’s excellent performance included: Prof. Nick Idoko, chairman of the planning committee, Ngozi Juliet Ezeja, SPA to Governor on liaison office, HRM, Igwe Simeon Osisi Itodo who reminded the Governor that their was an urgent need for a Bank in Local Government Area.

Others were Hon. Ethel Oyibo Ugwuanyi, Rt. Hon. Dennis Agbo, Senator Chukwuka Godfrey Utazi, who reminded the Governor that as a House of Representatives member, he was senatorial in his achievements, HRH, Igwe Felix Attah, Rev. Frs. Franklin Ugwu and Joseph Odo.

Earlier, the community has commended the Governor for completing 3 blocks of five classroom buildings in Central School Umuida and reconstruction of the Community Primary School Ogene.

The community further praised Governor Ugwunayi for his unfettered freedom, liberal leadership, religious tolerance, accommodation and above all social justice and equality for Wawa people of Enugu State.

Umuida Odumogwu Ezcha Ugwoji also referred the Governor to the poor state of the roads linking them to Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area and Odoru-Igalamela Local Government Area of Kogi State, adding that he could approve the conversion of the Central School Umuida to Girls’ School to augment the existing one.

In another development, the National Presidents of Umuida, Umuonu Progressive Unions and the President Umuonu Town Union, Nze Alphonsus Onuh, Mr. Abugu Aloysuis and Mr. Omeke, George Anikwe requested the Governor to come to their aid because according to the three persons, they have been marginalized over the years and as a result of that they a were lots of problems in the communities that make up Umuida such as: insufficient transformers, no renovated primary schools, insecurity by equipping the vigilante groups to check robbery incidences in the areas and the urgent need for water and electricity supply.
