FA Cup Final: Manchester City Battles Watford

Both the sides managed a narrow win in their semi-final encounters with City edging Brighton and Hove Albion by one goal, while, Watford made a miraculous comeback against Wolverhampton Wanderers from two goals down to finish the game 3-2 after extra time.

The Sky Blues could become the first team in the English top-flight history to win all three domestic competitions if Pep Guardiola and co. can manage to defeat Javi Gracia’s Watford.

Watford, meanwhile, will play their second ever FA Cup final, having played last final way back in 1984 where they lost the game by two goals to a resolute Everton side.

The last time City played in the FA Cup final was in 2013, and they lost against a Wigan side which got relegated to the Championship in the same year.

Let’s take a look at the three players who can make a difference in the last game of the domestic season.

Aguero managed 2 goals and 2 assists for the Citizens in his 2 appearances in the FA Cup playing a total of mere 41 minutes.

His winning header in the game against Swansea City was vital in City’s run to the FA Cup final. The Argentine’s contribution in the final third can once again decide the game for City in their pursuit for a record domestic treble.

The 25-year-old scored a brace coming from the bench to win the game for Watford in the semi-finals against Wolves.

Deulofeu is having a wonderful season so far, having 17 goal contributions to his name and netting 12 times.

The Spaniard poses a threat for the Hornets upfront and his style of play complements Troy Deeney which could create a lot of problems for the City back line.

The Portuguese has been City’s best player this season and has earned the praise of his manager who at one point in the season said , “Right now it is Bernardo and 10 more players.”

The 24-year-old has 25 goal contributions across all competitions, and has scored twice in the FA Cup.

His one goal and one assist in the comeback against Swansea City in the sixth round was one of his best games in a City shirt.
Bernardo will have to produce his magic once again if City are to lift the FA Cup when the final whistle blows to conclude the domestic season at Wembley.
