How Okowa Proved Critics Wrong in One Year – Osanebi

Osanebi-CommissioningThe Deputy Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi today said that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, within one year has proved critics of the government wrong with his one year report card in office.

 

The Deputy Speaker stated this during the commissioning of Ogbemudein Secondary School, Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area.

 

He noted that the Governor has done tremendously well, regardless of the economic challenge ravaging the state and the nation at large.

 

According to Osanebi, “even as we continue in celebration, celebrating God’s faithfulness and love towards our governor and state, I can authoritatively say today, that Governor Okowa has proved critics wrong.”

He said that the Governor has done beyond the expectation of his admirers, within a year, saying that with the economic challenges facing the country, Governor Okowa would have given excuses for not performing, giving the dwindling financial status of the state as a yardstick not to deliver on campaign promises.

 

Osanebi cited examples of Governor Okowa’s SMART one year in his local government area- Ndokwa East and Ndokwa nation, adding that the governor has facilitated the construction of schools and some road construction work ongoing.

 

He disclosed that within one year, Governor Okowa has awarded contracts for the construction and rehabilitation of fifty four roads (54) through the State Tenders Board and the Ministerial Tenders Board, noting that some of the projects that have been completed and undergoing inspection as part of the Democracy celebration includes, Ejinyere/Orodje and Onomigbo Streets in Orerokpe, Okpe Local Government Area; Jeddo Ughoton Road and Access Road to Eagles Height University (Phase 1 Jeddo/Omadino Bridge), also in Okpe local Government Area.

Others include Oteri Township Road in Ughelli North Local Government Area; Okere-Urhobo Community Roads in Warri South Local Government Area (Olomu link Road, 1st and 2nd  Olomu Streets, Otor-Okere and Agba Roads).

 

Kefas Road with a spur to Uzere junction, Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area; Uduophori road (Phase 1), Patani Local Government Area; Orikeze Street with a spur to Orikeze close, Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area; Usonia Road, off Nnebisi Road, Asaba; Faculty of Law Complex, Delta State University, Oleh Campus, Isoko South Local Government Area; Pedriatic Wards/Water Scheme in Patani General Hospital; and Azu-Owa Abavo Cottage Hospital, Abavo, Ika South Local Government Area of the state.

He noted that Governor Okowa’s projects are evenly distributed, across the length and breadth of Delta State, saying that he is indeed a Pan-Delta Governor and a Deltan beyond tribe.
