The attacking duo are indisputably the greatest players of their generation and two of the best to have ever played the beautiful game.

Their continued excellence over the last decade is shown by the fact that they have dominated the Ballon d’Or award for the last eight years; Messi being crowned the world’s best five times and Ronaldo winning it three times.

They have broken a ridiculous amount of records throughout their careers to date, but this latest milestone shows how consistent and prolific they have been, with Messi netting 482 career goals and Ronaldo 518, taking the pair to 1,000.

They are undoubtedly the greatest pair of all time.
