Ibikunle AsosunThe Ogun State House of Assembly has approved Amosun’s request to unveil new logo. This is to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the creation of the state. The event which comes up on the 3rd of February, 2016 will also witness the commissioning of various projects.

President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhamadu Buhari, would be the special guest of honour at the groundbreaking event and will commission 40 legacy projects to mark the event.

Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Taiwo Adeoluwa made this known in a press conference over the weekend in Abeokuta, the state capital. Adeoluwa explained that commissioning of all the 40 completed projects which are scattered across the three Senatorial districts of the state is part of the Ibikunle Amosun- led administration’s commitment to render stewardship of his five years of steering the affairs of the state to the people.

The SSG gave a breakdown of the projects to include roads, bridges, model schools as well as ultra-modern-day markets, further explained that the projects were tagged ‘legacy projects’ because they are edifices that would in the near future, become a reference point for good governance in the state.

Adeoluwa further stated that commissioning the projects would afford Amosun’s critics, the opportunities to evaluate his administration in accordance with his electioneering promises to rebuild the state in line with his 5-cardinal points.

While emphasising that no money was earmarked for the event, the SSG said the one week long programme would kick off on Friday January 29th with a quiz competition among pupils from the state’s public schools to enable members of the public evaluate the quality of education in the state.

Adeoluwa further stated that Tuesday and Wednesday, 2nd and 3rd February, would be for the commissioning of the 40th anniversary projects across the state by President Buhari and past governors of the state.
