Okowa Congratulates Ikpokpo on His Election as Delta ALGON Chairman
Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has congratulated the Executive Chairman of Isoko South Local Government, Hon. Sir Itiako Constantine Ikpokpo, on his election as Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Delta State Chapter.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu, Governor Okowa noted that he wasn’t surprised that his colleagues unanimously chose him to lead them considering that he has exhibited rare leadership qualities having acted in that capacity in the past one year.
“I congratulate you on your election as the Substantive Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Delta State Chapter.
Your election is a clear testimony of reward for genuine and responsive leadership.
“You have been elected at a time when we have so much challenges at the Council but am convinced that you will bring to bear, your leadership ingenuity as we collectively seek ways to solve the problems bedeviling the third their of government in the state.
While calling on all the local government chairmen to always put the people at the grassroots first in all their dealings, Governor okowa advised that they must shun the temptation to spend money on projects and programmes that does not have direct bearing on the lives of the people
“As a government we will continue to partner with you and your colleagues in our quest to deliver on our SMART Agenda of prosperity for all Deltans.”
Governor Okowa also congratulated Hon. Pastor Chuks Obusom, Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government who was elected as Secretary of ALGON, Hon. Chief Solomon Kpomah, Chairman, Udu Local Government as Publicity Secretary and Hon. Prince Godwin Ejinyere, Chairman, Okpe Local Government as Treasurer.
