A vehicle with BIAFRA as Number plate has been spotted in the United States (US). It is believed to belong to a member of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).

According to a blogger, Hungerbad, “Was going home from work like an Hour ago.

“This Driver just jumped from the Right lane to my lane without an indicator, and i was just cussing him in my Mind when i noticed the Tag (Plate Number)

“I was like BIAFRA? in the US? is that even Legal? looked at the tag closely and it is a Customized US MARINE tag number. This would mean the person is or was a member of the US Marine.

“Just confirmed today there are Biafran’s in the United States”, he said.

Accordin to a source, in US, personal vehicle tag registration is under jurisdiction of States. Each State has serial registration plates and are classified.

“One of the classifications is called VANITY plates. You can use alias or any pseudo identification you want for vanity plate so long it conforms within the ambit of free speech and cannot be in contravention of The Civil Rights Act of 1964.

“Biafra does not violate free speech nor CRA in America, that’s why he is able to identify and ride around in it”, the source observed.

The leader of IPOB and Director of Radio Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and two others are currently facing treason charges in Nigeria for belonging to the IPOB.

Many Pro-Biafra agitators are detained in government facilities over demand for an independent State, Biafra, to be carved out of Nigeria.
