The National Chairman of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), who was the party’s presidential candidate in the 2015 general elections, Alhaji Ganiyu Galadima, on Wednesday, led other national leaders the party to Anambra State to crown the door-to-door and person-to-person campaign by the party.
The visit was a show of support for the ACPN governorship candidate, Comrade Akunwata Ejoh Ojiba and his running mate, Mrs. Angel Onyinye Ebele, ahead of the state governorship election on Saturday.
Alhaji Galadima, who met with the party chairmen from the 21 local government areas of the Anambra State, said he brought words of encouragement to the state party leaders, saying “I came to tell you people that you can do it.
“I came to tell you that you should not be intimidated by anybody. The government of the day has created hunger and people felt that it was time to pick little things from them.
“All of them are hired crowd. Our candidate can afford to do that but we felt it is not best and the party and the candidate designed a means of reaching people in their places of abode in house-to-house campaign that you people have been doing”, Alhaji Galadima told the state chairmen.
Earlier, the party’s candidate, Comrade Ojiba, reiterated his readiness to run an open door policy as governor of the state, ensure water runs in every home within his first tenure, while reviving the state water board within nine months of his swearing in.
For teachers, he said emphasised that there was need to retrain them and build teachers’ quarters within public school premises, among others.
The national chairman visited along the national secretary, Mr. Paul Isamade, the national vice chairman (South East), Hon. Ikechukwu Okagbue, among other national party leaders.
