Company Manager Docked For Stealing N100.3m Goods

A manager with an Ibadan-based company, Ayokunle Ajetunmobl, was today, brought before Justice A. S Bolaji, of Iyanganku High Court of Oyo State, for alleged stealing of his employer’s goods valued more N100, 362,332 million.

Ajetunmobi, who work with Expand Global Industry Limited, was arraigned before the court by the General Investigation department of Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (ForceCIID), Alagbon-Ikoyi, Lagos, on a 13 count-charge of conspiracy, Stealing, fraudulent conversion and fraud.

The defendant according to the prosecution counsel, Mr. Morufu Animashaun, allegedly committed the offence between the month of April and October 2018, at the company’s industry located at Oluyole Industrial Estate Extension, Ibadan.

He was alleged to have committee the offences under the pretence of supplying the goods to the company’s customers but ended up diverting the proceeds to his personal purse.

The police in one of the counts in the charge marked I/13c/2019, alleged that the defendant and others now at large, stole goods worth N18, 911. 056.50 million.

He was also alleged to have stole another goods worth N34, 352. 556.00 million and another goods valued N15, 098, 779.50 million.

In all, the defendant and others at large, were said alleged to continued with the act until he was apprehended.

The offences according to the prosecutor are contrary to and punishable under sections 516,442(1) 390 the Criminal Code Act. Code C38, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Following his not guilty plea, the presiding judge, Justice Bolaji, admitted him to bail in the sum of N10 million with two sureties each in like sum.

One of the sureties, must be a landed property owner within the court’s jurisdiction. And the second surety according to the judge must be a civil servant in federal or Oyo State government not below Grade Level 12.

The judge further ordered that the sureties must depose to affidavits of means with their two current passport photographs. Adding that the verification of the bail terms are to be verified by the prosecutor.

The matter has been adjourned to 25 and 26 June for further hearing.
