Senator Dino Melaye may become the Nigerians’ bride in the 8th National Assembly as he has described as wicked, any lawmaker who accepts immodest allowance at this trying time in our national life.

According to the anti-graft activist, who is representing Kogi West at the Senate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), federal lawmakers would be insensitive to accept jumbo allowances been proposed for them at a time state governors are unable to pay workers’ salaries.

On his tweeter handle Tuesday night he declared: “It will be wicked for any federal legislature to accept any obscene allowance in a time that governors have not been able to pay salaries.”

Earlier, Senator Melaye had condemned a proposed has condemned the N9 billion the National Assembly has earmarked as wardrobe allowance for the 109 Senators and 360 members of the House of Representatives, while at the same time.

The senator had argued that it was morally wrong to pay such money to legislatures when people are hungry.

It would be recalled that Melaye was in the forefront of Senators rooting for the emergence of Senator Saraki as the President of the Senate through his group, the Like Mind Senators.
