Comrade Hakeem Dauda, Secretary to the Local Government (SLG) Ikeja LGA, Lagos
A veteran in Human Rights struggle, Comrade Hakeem Dauda, has called for what he termed as “Undiluted Patriotism” among Nigerians, to achieve the required development for the general good of all Nigerians
Comrade Hakeem, who is also the Secretary to Local Government (SLG) Ikeja LGA, Lagos, made the call in an interview with this medium at Jebba Airport, Saudi Arabia, while returning from pilgrimage to the Holyland of Mecca.
Speaking on state of nation, Comrade Hakeem said: “organizationally, I observed a lot of spiritual, cultural and economic opportunities here that can be domesticated in our country for the benefits of our citizens and the economic development of our country.
“As a stakeholder in the political and economic development of our country, I observed the undiluted followership zeal here in the holy land and I want to enjoin us to emulate it for the corporate development of our country”.
The SLG also said for the country to get to a desired promised Land, everyone must see ourselves in Nigeria as one and deviate from promoting anything that could encourage division, whatsoever.
He stated that unlike when there was battle between the Nigerian people and the military, we now have our own government in place and should therefore involve more in strategic progressive engagement by regularly appreciating good program of the government and as well make ourselves available in assisting for progress.
“We need to be more proactive and conscious. We need to believe in our country and the Leadership if we need to move forward in our country”.
The SLG appreciated the council chairman, Engr. (Dr.) Alabi Mojeed Balogun, among other leaders for the wisdom in selecting him among others comprising members of Political class and civil servants to observe this year’s haji.
He said: “about 37 days ago, myself and other chunk members of Ikeja local government under the Leadership of our amiable, conscious, dedicated, God fearing and compassionate leader, Engr. Dr Alabi Mojeed Balogun, the executive chairman of the local government sponsored delegates to Makkah to perform this year’s (2019) Hajj”.
“On  behalf of the delegates, which comprised the Political class and civil Servants, we are all thankful to Almighty Allah for his blessings and Mercy to be able to be counted among the ulamah that perform the Hajj. I want to also use this medium to thank our amiable and visionary Chairman, for his support and encouragement”.
