The Year 2000 set of Idhenze Grammar School, Isoko Local Government, Delta State, have congratulated the school on its 40 years anniversary.
The group under the name IGS Ambassadors, said the school which is one of the leading secondary schools in Delta State, has produced many leaders and captains of industries across the country since its inception.
One of the school’s ambassadors, Mr. Paul Okuweh Eterigho, in his congratulatory message to the school said: “this is a school above all schools in Delta States, reason being that it has produced many leaders and captains of industries. That is why we the 2000 set deem it fit to celebrate it on its 40th years of existence”.
Paul while commending the organisers of the school’s anniversary celebration, used the occasion to called on the Delta State government and oil firms, such as Shell and Agip, operating in the region to pay more attention to the welfare of the school’s teachers and facilities, as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
He however stated that in rendering the CSR, the oil firms should avoid the temptations of giving funds to any individual or group, as such funds gave out in the past were been diverted to personal pockets. He counselled the oil firms to personally handle any project they intend giving to the school and their host communities.
