A frontline socio-political pressure group known as Enugu Youth Coalition has advised supporters of the Enugu State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to take advantage of the 4-day display of Voters Register by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to crosscheck their names in their various polling units in the state.

This was contained in a statement signed by the National Coordinator of the coalition, Dr. Edwin Obune.

The statement further urged all groups and associations who endorsed the governor for re-election next year to mobilize themselves to their respective polling units and ensure that their correct names are on INEC register to avoid any form of disemfranchisment during governorship elections next year.

According to the group, ”It is not enough to have Permanent Voters Card without going to check the status of such cards on INEC register; saying it is the confirmation of their names on INEC register that gives them the real power to re-elect Gburugburu (Ugwuanyi) next year.”

The coalition further advised the electorates to complain to relevant authorities upon discovery that their names are not on the register.
