What Obasanjo Told Journalists After Secret Meeting With Buhari

Since the new administration of President Muhammadu Buhari came to power on May 29, 2015, former President Olusegun Obasanjo has held secret meetings on more than two occasions.

On Tuesday the duo held a close door meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting lasted for about one hour inside the President’s office.

When journalists tried to get Obasanjo to speak on the outcome of the meeting, he refused to make comments as Buhari accompanied him to his vehicle at 4:17pm.

However, when pressed, in his usual crude manner, the Ota farmer simply told journalists that approached him: “comot joo.”

Obasanjo had backed Buhari’s candidature ahead the last presidential election after tearing his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) membership card.

Recently, Buhari had appointed Obasanjo as his Special Envoy to mediate in political crisis brewing in Guinea Bissau.
